The Terrafix system was primarily chosen for the job because it protects the river bank from erosion caused by wave action. The Terrafix system is also very effective in protecting the bank from erosion caused by heavy rain, degradation by foot traffic and erosion caused by run-off. Hundreds of kilometres of riverbank protection using the Terrafix T45 block have been installed throughout Australia.
