Laguna Quays Resort is a 1850 hectare site at Repulse Bay south of Prosperine in Queensland’s Whitsunday region. It is comprised of
a 100 berth marina, boat terminal, boat-lift structure, boat ramp, hotel and golf course. The wall in its highest point reaches 7 metres
and is of crib construction.
Installation was very efficient as the units were craned directly from the delivery truck into their final position.
Benefits of this include:
- reduction of double handling,
- reduction of on-site storage,
- reduced on site
machine costs and - a significant saving of time.
Approximately 7500 blocks were manufactured for the wall and rigorous quality control was essential as the marina is subject to a 6 metre saltwater tidal variation.
Thorough quality testing of the blocks showed a very good relationship between density and strength.
